Get a Mentor
At Mentoring Men, our free, one-to-one mentoring helps you make sense of life—whatever you're facing. Stress, loneliness, relationship breakdowns, purpose, grief—no topic’s too small or too heavy.
It’s not about fixing you. It’s about helping you show up for yourself, your family, and your mates in stronger, more connected ways.
We’ll match you with a local bloke who gets it—someone who's walked a rough path and come out the other side. A trained mentor, there to listen, not lecture.
You don’t have to go it alone. Let’s see each other through.

What is Mentoring Men?Mentoring Men is a free, one-to-one life mentoring program that connects men with trained volunteer mentors. It’s not therapy or crisis support — it’s a real, relatable connection with another bloke who listens, supports, and helps you find your way forward.
-
Who can get a mentor? If you’re a man aged 18 or over and looking for a bit of clarity, connection or someone to talk to — you’re in the right place. We support men from all walks of life — whether you’re feeling stuck, adjusting to a life change, managing stress, navigating relationships, or just feeling a bit lost. You don’t need a referral, and there’s no diagnosis required. You just need to be ready for a conversation. We’re best placed to support you if: You’re navigating everyday life challenges, big or small You’re feeling disconnected, isolated, or like you’re carrying a lot alone You want to reflect, set goals, and move forward in a healthy way You’re open to regular conversations with someone who’s walked a few hard roads of their own We’re not the right fit if: You’re in immediate crisis or need clinical intervention (but we’ll help you find the right support) You’re experiencing severe mental health symptoms that require specialist care You’re not currently in a place to engage safely or respectfully in regular conversations We work alongside the mental health system — not as a replacement for it. If your needs are more complex, we’ll do our best to guide you toward services that are better equipped, and when you’re ready, we’re here. “It’s not about fixing you — it’s about walking beside you while you figure things out.”
-
How does the mentoring process work?Once you apply, we’ll get in touch to learn more about you — your background, your goals, and what kind of mentor might be a good fit. From there, we’ll match you with someone who shares your values or has been through something similar. You’ll meet regularly in a way that suits you — over coffee, on the phone, on a walk — and take it from there.
-
Is mentoring confidential?Yes — 100%. Everything you share with your mentor stays between you, unless there’s a serious safety concern. It’s a judgement-free, safe space to talk.
-
How long does mentoring go for? There’s no set end date — some relationships last a few months, others go longer. What matters is that you feel supported and heard. We check in with you both along the way to make sure it’s working well.
-
What if it’s not a good fit?No stress. If it doesn’t feel right, we’ll work with you to find a better match. This is your journey — we’re here to make it work for you.

You don’t have to be extraordinary to make a real difference. Sometimes, it’s the hard-earned wisdom and life experience you barely notice that can mean everything to a bloke doing it tough.
Our tried and tested approach trains you up to mentor with confidence using our sophisticated model of care.
Grounded in trust, mutual respect, lived experience and purposeful conversation, it’s not therapy and it’s more than just a program – it’s a community movement.
What matters is showing up, listening, and giving a damn. By stepping up as a mentor, you could help another man find his way—and you might be surprised by how much you get out of it, too
As Seen on The Morning Show
Our CEO Filipe Gama e Silva and COO Cassandra Gray appeared on Channel 7’s morning show to launch our national Men Do Talk campaign.
Aired in the opening days of the campaign, Filipe and Cass shared the mission behind Mentoring Men—building a nationwide movement where men feel safe to talk, be heard, and supported without judgment.
They spoke to the heart of mentoring: no therapy, no scripts—just real connection between two people walking through life together.
This is what we do. And it's changing the way men show up—for themselves, and for each other.
This is mentoring. This is the movement.
